The DESIGN "FORNA" was designed for the sailors who insist on safety, speed and comfort.

As with all Van de Stadt designs the construction and stability meet the highest requirements and prescriptions.

Striking characteristics of the FORNA are:

The 7/8 sail plan no longer has an overlapping genoa. This means that the small high-aspect jib with the big full-batten main is easy to handle. In addition, the aerodynamic propulsion forces are optimal for this sail plan.

Choice from three fixed keels and a keel-centreboard version. All designs have the same stability.

The owner's cabin is forward with its own washstand/toilet area and a large combined cupboard and wardrobe.

The particularly large cabin with galley and chart table.

All the areas that you enter in wet-weather gear are clustered around the entrance.

Toilet unit with shower and wardrobe for wet-weather gear.

A cabin with a double bed aft, equivalent to the owner's cabin forward.

On starboard and aft there is ample storage space with large hatches, allowing long trips without shortage of space.

A folding swimming platform is integrated into transom.

The plans are available for round-bilge steel, aluminium and glass-fibre wood core and multi-chine steel and aluminium construction. The plans for multi-chine construction make use of the "quick assembly" method (QAM), known the world over and developed by Van de Stadt Design.

The steel and aluminium versions include all expanded plate patterns on CD in ACAD dwg format. Full size plots on mylar film are available also.

The glass fibre wood core versions include expanded deck plate patterns on CD in ACAD dwg format. Full size plots on mylar film are available also.

Its special design concept makes the FORNA a yacht that combines sailing pleasure with comfortable travelling. The sophisticated building methods form the basis for a good investment and quality. If you are looking for a yacht of approximately 11 m, the FORNA is your best choice.
