Jachtwerf Heeg asked the renowned designer to draw an elegant, modular boat for both the sporty sailor as well as the cruiser who wants to overnight on board in comfort.

The essence of the POINTER 25 is cabin yacht luxury in tandem with true sailing pleasure. The excellent sailing properties are the result of , among other things, the fathead mainsail, the furling jib that sits on a below-deck drum and the modern below the waterline hull with a bulb keel and spade rudder.

The VAN DE STADT 46 PH is a long distance cruising yacht with pilot house and lift keel.

The different interior layout is very comfortable for making long voyages.

The hydraulically operated lift keel with a minimum draught of 1.25m makes it possible to navigate shallow waters and enter otherwise inaccessible ports.
When the bulb keel is fully lowered this yacht performs outstandingly under sail due to a maximum draught of 2.70m and low placed ballast.

The first yacht is custom built in aluminium by Jachtwerf Atlantic in Harlingen, The Netherlands.

The AGARI is popular with competition sailors who, for relatively little money, have a chance of taking the first prize in a field of larger ships. The secret lies in the exceptionally low weight combined with the dimensions of larger yachts. Beam and waterline give the impression of a length of 45 to 48 foot.

A light yacht such as the AGARI requires relatively little sail and consequently lighter gear. The ballast is less than 3 tons. A matter which reduces costs. The interior is simple and functional. The coach-roof is kept small. Those needing more headroom can adapt the height. But large alterations disturb this design for pure racing pleasure.

There is a saying that what looks right is right, and this potent yet elegant 10.10m racer was not only the best looking yacht in the fleet at that time, it also was a winner.

These Dehler GRP production boats were winning almost all important races all over the world in the early eighties.
The upgraded db2 achieved 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th in the 1984 world championship.

The Dehler/Van de Stadt team was top of the pile, and the db1 and db2 models proved an inspiration to a generation of young designers.

Van de Stadt Design have frequently been approached by customers who want to trade in their sailing yacht for a motorboat but at the same time cannot find drawings advanced enough to compare to Van de Stadt sailing designs.

When, therefore, the editors of the Dutch yachting magazine "de Waterkampioen" launched their Motorboat 2000 campaign and invited Van de Stadt Design to develop a modern and "green" motorboat, the designers had already for some time been toying with the idea of designing one, based on their extensive experience with multi-chine sailing yachts. The STADTLINE 38 is the result of this fruitful co-operation. A handsome 11 metre cruiser built in multi-chine, at home both on the inland waters and offshore.

Prior to building, the STADTLINE 38 was extensively tanktested by Delft University of Technology and proven to be a stable vessel with excellent sea-keeping abilities. A relatively small engine (37KW, 50HP) suffices to reach hull speed. However, bigger engines can be installed and there is room for twin engines.

COMFORT

Van de Stadt Design believe that comfort is designed in rather than added on at a later stage. It follows than a lot of attention has been paid to the accommodation. Below decks, for instance, most of the floorspace is in one plane and the windows are at eye-level. Also, there is plenty of room for six people to be kept in comfort. The owner's cabin in the foreship is spacious, as are the galley and the toilet compartment. The sitting area on starboard can be double as a separate cabin.

ENVIRONMENT

The STADTLINE 38 is easy on the environment. Since it is easily driven she only needs a relatively small engine - a result of the experience with fast sailing designs. A sump tank is built in as standard.

The steel and aluminium versions include all expanded plate patterns in ACAD dwg format.

STADTLINE 38S (fast aluminium multi-chine version)

A fast version of the Stadtline 38 was requested by a lot of clients over the years. We decided to design a completely new deep V-shaped lines plan to accommodate two stern drive engines up to 460 Hp to give her a maximum speed of approximately 30 knots. The plans show two Volvo Penta 6 cylinder 230 Hp diesel engines with Duoprop® stern drives.

Building plans are available for aluminium construction only to save weight as much as possible. The deck, cockpit and interior however are equal to the STADTLINE 38.

THUMB is a fast dinghy. Beamy enough to stay upright in a strong wind. The almost flat bottom permits rapid planing.

This single-chine boat is easy to build in marine ply. The trailable Spanker is used a great deal by youngsters who stay overnight under a cover in a spacious cockpit. The centre board makes it suitable for even the shallowest of waters. A light outboard motor of 3 to 5 HP is a benefit for touring. Nice to have for a pleasant Sunday.

The DOLPHIN is an extremely modern design of a very fast cruiser/racer. It is a noticeably spacious yacht. A family of 4 can easily spend the night aboard without rearranging the cabin seating. A spacious toilet guarantees the privacy. The 12 HP diesel engine is more than adequate for this yacht which weighs less than 2 tons.

The yacht is especially designed to be built according to the Glass-fibre wood core construction or the diagonal round bilge wood epoxy method. In this way, and in not too long a time, you achieve a tremendously strong modern 26 footer capable of competing with every other yacht in its class.

If you plan to race, we then recommend the deep keel. As an extra to the building plans you can order millimetre-accurate frame drawings to full scale. This ensures that the building of this elegant, highly modern yacht is a guaranteed success.
